Our company has been established by architect Orhan Baltacıgil on 1985 with designation Ores Turizm ve Yapı Ltd.. At that time its focus was designing private boats and yachts. At 1992 our company moved to Istanbul with the purpose of focusing its all activities designing and building residential and office buildings with steel. The works at that era are the pioneers of steel applications except industrial constructions in Turkey.

The target of the companyhad been to bring the construction professionals together, who believed that the steel is most acceptable material, while reinforced concrete constructions are having generally been carried out erroneously, deficient and unregulated in Turkey, overlooking that it is on a active seismic zone. At those years the name of the company was changed to Gelişimci MimarlarLtd. Consequently between years 1994-1999 twelveoffices and residences havebeen completedwith steel as their load bearing infrastructure. In August 1999, a major earthquake proved the thoughts of our group about concrete. Being inspired from Turkish traditional wooden construction method, the company designed a bolts linked steel load-bearing system designated Mecanorm which have been registered as trademark and useful model, with the aim of proving that steel construction is safe in addition to being practical and economical.

Between the years 1999-2004 eleven new construction and restoration projects were completed withMecanorm construction system. At this period Mecanorm had been proved to be a very appropriate system particular to restoring applications of old wooden, stone and brick buildings. The subject was personally expressed by authorized committee (KTVKK). But, mainly steel and other alternate construction methods have been met with meaningless resistance which prevented a wide spread application.

When reaching the year 2005the group founded Kent Yapi Tasarım Uygulama Ltd. and extended its product range with Quickhome and Panelevler trademarks in addition to Mecanorm.

Kent Yapi, today, is still improving its progressive designs & manufactures its steel construction systems in its own factory, while on the other hand presents the trademarks Quickhome and Panelevler to national and international markets.

Research & development program of the company includes; the steelstair shafts for existing buildings designed for protection and reinforcement against earthquakes, field kitchen, bath,WCunits.

Kent Yapi is also designing and building tourist facilities, residential complexes, conceptual designs for franchise branches and sales / distributions channels of institutions and combining the possibilities and approaches of future with its current twenty years experiences.
